Bayer Leverkusen has reportedly reached an agreement with PSV to transfer USMNT star Malik Tillman, potentially worth €40 million (£34m/$47m).
David Ornestein confirmed this on his social media post (Facebook) where he stated “Malik Tillman to Bayer Leverkusen. Verbal agreement in place between all parties involved. Done deal, Transfer fee around €35/40m total package, long term deal agreed with Tillman Bayern have buy back clause but Bayer now consider verbal agreement done.”
The American international is returning to Germany a year after leaving Bayern Munich, where he had completed a permanent move. Before that, he spent two seasons on loan at Rangers and PSV. During his time at PSV, Tillman won back-to-back Eredivisie titles while playing alongside fellow Americans Sergino Dest and Ricardo Pepi. He achieved a career-high of 16 goals in the 2024-25 season.
His impressive performances have drawn interest from various clubs across Europe. Although he hasn’t convinced Bayern to bring him back to the Allianz Arena, he may face them in the 2025-26 season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirms David Ornestein’s news by stating that Malik Tillman to Bayer Leverkusen is HERE WE GO!
Tillman is expected to sign a long-term contract with Leverkusen, who aim to help him reach his full potential at 23 years old. He previously made seven appearances for Bayern, scoring once, and will be looking to be part of the USMNT’s plans for a home World Cup next summer.
