Why Eberechi Eze is the best fit for Arsenal

Published on

Arsenal have reportedly contacted Eberechi Eze camp over a potential move. Reaching a personal terms agreement with the Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze won’t be an issue as the player is keen on the move. Both Arsenal and Tottenham are competing for his signature but it looks like Arsenal are leading the race for the England International forward.

Why Eze is Perfect for Arsenal?

Solving the Left Wing Problem

Eze could be the solution to Arsenal’s left-wing issues and help fire them to the Premier League title. Arsenal has on several occasions finished second on the Premier League table denying them the prestigious trophy since 2004. With lack of squad depth, Arsenal have struggled for consistency on the left flank, and Eze’s versatility across attacking positions makes him an ideal candidate to address this tactical gap. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard can’t be trusted enough in the left flank. The arrival of Eberechi Eze would put up a competition for the left wing forwards and ease the pressure when one is injured. Last season Trossard registered 10 goals and 10 assists in 56 appearances for Arsenal, Martinelli on the other hand had 10 goals and 6 assists in 51 appearances for Arsenal while Eberechi Eze had 14 goals, 11 assists in 43 appearances for Crystal Palace last season. He plays a lesser game and still has goals and assists more than Martinelli and Trossard.

Impressive 2024/2025 Statistics

Eze has recorded 14 goals and 11 assists in the 2024/2025 season in all competitions, demonstrating excellent productivity from an attacking midfield/wing position. His dual threat of goals and creativity would add a new dimension to Arsenal’s attack. He would be a perfect trio to either Sesko and Bukayo Saka or Gyokeres and Bukayo Saka depending on the striker Arsenal settled with.

Historical Connection

Interestingly, Eze has a previous connection to Arsenal, having left the club’s academy at age 13 . This adds a compelling narrative to the potential transfer, with the player having intimate knowledge of the club’s culture and values.

Premier League Experience and Versatility
With 167 appearances for Crystal Palace, scoring 40 goals and providing 28 assists , Eze has proven his consistency and adaptability in the Premier League. His capacity to recover possession and dynamic attacking play make him a key figure with promising balance of flair and effectiveness .

England International Status

As an established England international, Eze brings the experience and mentality required for high-pressure situations. His international experience would be valuable in Arsenal’s European campaigns and title challenges.

Trophy-Winning Mentality

Eze scored the only goal in the 2025 FA Cup final to win Crystal Palace’s first ever major trophy , demonstrating his ability to perform in crucial moments and deliver when it matters most.

Strategic Fit for Mikel Arteta’s System

Eze’s profile aligns perfectly with Arteta’s tactical preferences. His ability to operate across multiple attacking positions provides the tactical flexibility that modern football demands. His combination of technical ability, pace, and end product would complement Arsenal’s existing attacking players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

The 27-year-old represents the ideal age profile – experienced enough to make an immediate impact while still having several peak years ahead. His proven Premier League track record eliminates the adaptation risk often associated with foreign signings.

With Arsenal looking to challenge for the Premier League title and compete effectively in European competitions, Eze’s creativity, goal threat, and big-game experience make him a logical target. The reported personal terms agreement suggests this transfer could gain momentum quickly, especially with Tottenham also in the race, adding urgency to Arsenal’s pursuit.
