OFFICIAL: Dan Ndoye Complete Nottingham Forest Move

Nottingham Forest have officially completed their club record signing of Swiss winger Dan Ndoye from Bologna, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirming the finalization. “Official, confirmed. Dan Ndoye joins Nottingham Forest on €40m plus €5m add-ons deal from Bologna. Contract until June 2030 plus option to extend,” Romano announced, bringing closure to weeks of intense negotiations.

The Premier League side have agreed to pay Bologna €40 million upfront plus €5 million in performance-related add-ons, making this their most expensive signing in club history. This substantial investment demonstrates Forest’s commitment to establishing themselves as a competitive force in English football’s top flight.

Ndoye has committed his long-term future to the City Ground by signing a contract that runs through June 2030, with an additional option to extend the deal further. This extended commitment shows both the player’s confidence in Forest’s project and the club’s belief in his ability to contribute over multiple seasons.

Medical Completed Successfully

The 24-year-old Swiss international completed his medical examination at Forest’s training facilities after traveling from Italy. Dan Ndoye completed the main part of his medical at Nottingham Forest today after a €40m plus €5m add-ons deal agreed with Bologna yesterday, Romano had confirmed during the final stages of the transfer process.

10% Sell-On Clause Included

As part of the agreement, Nottingham Forest accepted Bologna’s request for a 10% sell-on clause for any future transfer of Ndoye. NFFC also agreed to let Bologna have a 10% sell-on clause for Ndoye, ensuring the Italian club benefits from any potential future sale of the talented winger.

The completion was made smoother by the fact that personal terms had been agreed well in advance of the club negotiations concluding. Ndoye has agreed terms with Forest 10 days ago: he wants the move, Romano had earlier reported, showing the player’s genuine desire to join the Premier League club.

Bologna’s Initial Resistance Overcome

Forest had to overcome Bologna’s initial reluctance to sell their prized asset, with the Italian club initially rejecting lower offers. Bologna rejected the first bid as they wanted to keep Ndoye but NFFC was ready to push again, Romano had reported during the negotiation phase, before Forest’s persistence eventually paid off.

Club Record Investment Justified

The €45 million total package represents Forest’s largest ever investment in a single player, surpassing their previous transfer records. This level of spending shows owner Evangelos Marinakis’ determination to build a squad capable of competing consistently in the Premier League while avoiding relegation battles.

Anthony Elanga Replacement Found

Ndoye’s arrival fills the void left by Anthony Elanga’s departure to Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window. The 24-year-old will replace Anthony Elanga, who joined Newcastle United earlier in the window, providing Forest with a like-for-like replacement who offers similar pace and versatility.

Swiss International Quality Addition

The winger brings valuable international experience to Forest’s squad, having established himself as a key player for the Swiss national team. His performances at major tournaments and consistent displays for Bologna caught the attention of multiple European clubs before Forest won the race.

Napoli Competition Eliminated

Forest’s successful pursuit came after Napoli withdrew from the race for Ndoye’s signature. Nottingham Forest have agreed a €40m plus bonuses deal with Bologna for Dan Ndoye, claims Fabrizio Romano, after Napoli backed off, allowing the Premier League club to complete their move without further competition.

Premier League Adaptation Challenge

The move to the Premier League represents a significant step up for Ndoye, who must now adapt to the increased pace and physicality of English football. His experience in Serie A should provide a solid foundation for making this transition successfully.

Forest’s European Ambitions

This signing reflects Forest’s growing ambitions under Nuno Espirito Santo’s management, with the club looking to build on their recent Premier League stability. Ndoye’s quality and versatility provide tactical options that could help Forest push for European competition places.

For Bologna, this sale provides significant funds to reinvest in their squad while the sell-on clause ensures they benefit from Ndoye’s future development. The Italian club can take pride in developing a player who commanded such a substantial transfer fee.

Immediate Integration Expected

With the transfer now complete, Ndoye can begin integrating with Forest’s squad during their remaining pre-season preparations. His early arrival allows time to adapt to new teammates and tactical systems before the Premier League season begins in earnest.
